Our impact

Energy that keeps care running.

Evidence from the healthcare facilities we support in Tanzania. Every number is shown with its source, scope and reporting period.

Built for healthcare

Power is a health outcome.

Clinics and dispensaries in Tanzania lose vaccines, lighting and diagnostics every time the grid fails or the generator runs dry. We started Ubuntu AfyaLink to change that, one facility at a time.

We cut energy waste first, then size the right solar and battery system for the loads that must never go off, and we keep supporting the facility after handover.

This page shows what that work has changed so far. Each figure carries its facility, what it measures and how it was measured. Where a number is still being verified, we say so.

Nurse taking vaccines from a solar-powered cold-chain refrigerator
Before AfyaSolar, power interruptions affected almost everything we were trying to do, especially storing vaccines and maintaining consistent services during difficult weather. Today, we operate with much greater confidence. Our refrigerator works reliably, services continue more smoothly, and we are now planning to expand maternal health services because we finally have stable power.

Our evidence rules

How we count impact

  • Facility

A unique site, counted once for the stated period.

  • People

A defined population with deduplication rules and a named source.

  • Energy savings

Site-specific pre and post bills or fuel records. Never an inferred portfolio rate.
